Description:
The Athletic Supervisor develops and maintains an effective student activities and athletic program designed to complement the curricular program through extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance
Essential Functions:
• Student Activities and Athletic Supervisor
• Coordinates and administers all aspects of the athletic program
• Works with coaches on budget development and submits to appropriate school administrator
• Maintains school calendars, coordinates use of the school facility, and maintains the schedule of building and grounds used by inside and outside organizations
• Coordinates and implements an orderly school field trip policy designed to enhance the school curricular program while minimizing disruption and the school day
• Works with the assistant principal and recommends to the principal, candidates to fill vacancies which occur in the student activities program
• Serve as a liaison with athletic booster groups.
• Shared Responsibilities
• Shares in the implementation of staff development and monitors coach certifications and/or licenses to ensure they are eligible to work with student athletes
• Assists in the supervision of extracurricular and co-curricular activities
• Assists with the supervision and assessment of both certificated and classified staff as assigned by the building principal
• Performs other duties relative to the position as requested by the high school principal
• Responsibilities Assigned According to the Needs of the Building
• Provides the school population with daily information pertaining to school-related functions, such as daily announcements, etc.
• Responsible for the supervision and maintenance of grounds and outside facilities
• Directs the custodial staff during athletic events
• Attends O.C.C. and OHSAA meetings and functions as directed by the assistant principal
• Responsible for the scheduling and contracting with officials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
• Previous experience in athletics preferred (coaching, athletic director, athletic supervisor, or athletic participation)
