• Master’s Degree Required
• Administrative License required
• Experience with leadership at the supervisory level
• Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication
• Demonstrated skill in business affairs and supervision
• Demonstrates sound judgement and emotional stability
• Ensures the safety of students
• Experience with Construction and Facility Management
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work
• Reasoning ability, application of knowledge and ability to communicate

• Ohio Business Managers License Preferred

Additional Information: The Director of Business Services oversees the planning, development, management, and technical assistance of facilities, grounds, operational support of the Groveport Madison Board of Education.

• Supervises and provides direction for the overall business services program.
• Evaluates and supervises the Maintenance Supervisor, HVAC Mechanic and the DSC custodial staff.
• Supervises and coordinates contractors work including HVAC, electrical plumbing, construction, landscape and property maintenance.
• Plans for and supervises the construction of new buildings and the renovation and repair of buildings and sites in the district in coordination with the Deputy
• Oversees in the purchase of buildings/sites for the Board of Education.
• Assists with the coordination and planning of the district’s Safety Program.
• Assists the Treasurer and Deputy Superintendent in the development of the annual budget and appropriations for the district.
• Develops and oversees the purchasing cycles, contract management and bid development for equipment, furniture and facility related items and services.
• Serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet.
• Attends Board of Education meetings in open and executive sessions as appropriate.
• Plans for and facilitates the ongoing achievement of the district’s goals and objectives.
• Provides analysis and prepares reports and/or presentations with the Deputy Superintendent
• Presents information and responds to questions from groups, employees and general public.
• Administers and complies with Board Policy regarding the District’s Facility Use and Equipment Use guidelines, procedures, and requests.
• Oversees safety, energy, hazardous materials, and similar programs for the district.
• Oversees and implements the district work ticketing system.
• Develops and coordinates calamity day plan and snow removal strategy.
• Coordinates with transportation and maintenance to recommend safe student transportation plans due to weather conditions.
• Remains knowledgeable of school law and revises or updates district procedures in accordingly.
• Conducts studies on areas of operation for quality and efficiency improvement.
• Oversees the maintenance and revision of non-certified job descriptions.
• Develops and implements effective communication with classified staff.
• Supervises the property/asset management function of the district.
• Assists in the recruitment and selection of non-certified personnel.
• Assists in the development of PublicSchoolWorks requirements for classified staff.
• Assists in developing appropriate professional development for classified employees.
• Approves and manages overtime requests for classified staff.
• Coordinates summer work and cleaning schedules.
• Works with the Treasurer to co-manage the fleet, property and liability insurance program.
• Performs duties with awareness of all district requirements, contractual requirements and Board of Education responsibilities.
• Assumes such other responsibilities and performs other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent.
